As a small committee (12 this year), we have spent the past year reflecting on our processes and role within the international development community. With the ongoing pandemic restricting many of our usual activities, we have increased our reliance on online engagement. As a result, we have expanded our social media presence and we are looking to recruit someone to continue this role for the academic year 2021/22.
Manage Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn profiles
Develop clear strategies for increasing engagement
Manage and develop our newly-formed host network
Working closely as part of the Publicity and Fundraising team, supporting volunteer recruitment and fundraising
Attend weekly committee meetings
Quickly respond and engage to social media enquiries
Drafting, promoting and managing events
EUSA office bearer
Creative, ambitious, and confident to learn on the job
Passionate about the International Development sector
Confident in using social media platforms
Strong ability to work in a team
Excellent communication skills
High-level/fluency in English
2021/22 student at the University of Edinburgh
Prior experience in social media management
Graphic design experience or willingness to learn
Experience in charity management
Prior position on a society committee
NB. Given ongoing uncertainty, some details of the role are yet to be clarified. Whilst it is likely that most of this role can be carried out online, being in Edinburgh would be preferable.
