What do I need to know before submitting a proposal to EGP?

Here's everything you need to know about our application process

Key things to Remember

  • The maximum budgets are £9,000 for a construction project and £7,000 for a social project.
  • We encourage construction plans to include accessibility for people living with disabilities.
  • Projects must start and finish during the summer, between late May and late August and last between 6 - 10 weeks.
  • Projects must utilise teams of 6 - 10 volunteers as well as the money they have fundraised.
  • All volunteer expenses are paid by the volunteers themselves. These should not be included in the project budget. You should strive to provide accommodation and transport arrangements that are as affordable as possible for the volunteers. We do not have any requirements above basic needs.
  • You must include a detailed budget and volunteer/construction timetables.
  • Please remember that EGP volunteers are unskilled.
  • And finally, read the instructions we send with the proposal form. They are full of useful hints and will make your application much stronger!

More information on what EGP is looking for in a project will be sent out with the application form.

Applications for Summer 2020 are now closed.

Please contact us if you are interested in submitting a future project proposal.

Part One
Before Applications Open

  • We will contact you during April/May letting you know when applications will open for the upcoming year.
  • At any point outside our application window feel free to contact us and we will add your details to our database.

Part Two
Applications Open!

  • You will be sent an invitation asking you to submit a proposal.
  • You will then decide whether you will be submitting an application for a social OR for a construction project.
  • Fill the form in as best you can and get it to us!

Part Three
After you have applied

  • Great! We have your application.
  • Our 'Project Researcher and Developer' will then get in touch with you and ask you any questions they may have about your proposal.
  • Answer these as quickly as you can.
  • Applications will close late August.

Part Four
Project Selection

  • Once applications close your proposal will then go through our rigorous selection process.
  •  EGP will review all project applications individually and send you more questions. You will have two weeks to reply!
  • EGP will get together one final time and consider all proposals and their responses before a final few will be selected.
  • You will then hear whether you have been successful by Mid-October.
